We are continueously spreading the word about the massive rate of poverty, (64%) which currently exist in Liberia. The country may be recognized as one of the poorest countries in the world; but the richness of the culture and its peoples, still exists -- we are building on that. 

 

Our first step forward is through education, vocational training, extra curriculum programs and job creation for youths. We distribute merchandise, provide training and create projects that builds confidence and independence so that those who emerge out of poverty, will be well equipped for continued education and successful careers.

 

 

As part of our functions, we monitor and conduct feasibility studies/ongoing collection of relevant data on poverty and education throughout Liberia. 

The premise of these functions are to improve equality and opportunity amongst ‘impoverished’ youths, to enhance efficient sorting and learning capabilities, to prepare students for job opportunities and to promote the importance of good citizenry within a society-- this is our civic duty.  By systematically incorporating these concepts, we gain knowledge as to how our Preparatory Learning Center programs would interface with culture, society and other educational institutions across the board.

Women and Children

  • 60% of the world’s hungry are women.

  • 50% of pregnant women in developing countries lack proper maternal treatment resulting in approximately 300,000 deaths annually due from childbirth.

  • 1 out of 6 infants are born with low birth weight in developing countries.

  • Nearly half of all deaths in children under 5 are attributable to under-nutrition which translates into the loss of about 3 million young children per year.

 

HIV/AIDS and other Deadly Diseases

  • 36.9 million people are living with HIV/AIDS.

  • 50 percent of people living with HIV/AIDS are women.

  • 88 percent of all children and 60 percent of all women living with HIV are in sub-Saharan Africa.

  • 6.3 million children died in 2013  – 17,000 a day- mostly from preventable health issues such as malaria, diarrhea and pneumonia.

 

Poverty

  • About 896 million people in developing countries live on anywhere from $1.25 - $1.90 a day or even less.
